Sara earned her BFA at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she studied animation. Her debut independent production, Ballyvaughan Story, completed a successful festival circuit run in 2007. She resides in Los Angeles, CA, where has been working for the past three years.

She is currently a graduate student in the Experimental Animation program at the California Institute of the Arts.
